The Trinidad and Tobago Beach Football Team has secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2015 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship in El Salvador, following a 6-2 victory over the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Kevon Woodley scored a brace for T&T, while Kerwin Stafford, Makan Hislop and Ryan Augustine also chipped in with goals.
Trinidad goalkeeper Victor Thomas also got his name on the scoresheet, however, five minutes later he got a red card and conceded a penalty. But, to Trinidad’s relief, their back-up keeper Zane Coker saved the penalty.
Late into the third period Herby Magny got the consolation goals for the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Trinidad and Tobago will next face Mexico for a chance to top the group on Tuesday.  Trinidad’s best finish at a Beach Soccer Championship was 7th in the 2013 edition.
