A 17 – year – old of Lot 280 Independence Boulevard, Georgetown, charged with robbery was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on Thursday, February 26.
Nicholas Sookram denied that on February 23, at Vlissingen Street, Georgetown, being in the company of others, he robbed Brandon Singh of one gold chain valued $70,000 and a Samsung Galaxy S4 valued $85,000.
Police Prosecutor Michael Grant objected to bail on the grounds of the prevalence of the offence and also the penalty attached to it. Bail was refused and the matter was adjourned to March 09.
