A woman of the United Kingdom, is asking a judge to allow her to use her daughter’s eggs to get pregnant with her grandchild.

The unnamed 59-year-old mother and her husband, 58, who were referred to as "Mr. and Mrs. M" of London, are demanding the release of their daughter’s frozen eggs.

Mrs. M, who is a former breast cancer patient, wants to use the frozen eggs from her deceased daughter to create an embryo with sperm from an anonymous donor.

An independent regulator has refused to allow exporting the eggs to a fertility clinic in the United States, where a doctor is willing to carry out the process and implement it with the embryo.

The judge heard how the couple’s only daughter, referred to as "A," died of colon cancer 4 years ago at the age of 23.

The mother wants to make her daughter’s memory live on by having her baby despite the risks of pregnancy, which could be life threatening because of her age and past health problems.

The couple said that it was their daughter’s last wish.

Despite being seriously ill, the daughter underwent treatment to harvest her three eggs. As part of the process, she completed a consent form for the eggs to be stored after her death.

However, she did not file out the document indicating how she wanted it to be used. Now, her mother is waiting for a judge to decide if they will be able to use the eggs and give birth to her own grandchild.
